The Songwriter - Composer/Lyricist

Barbara has studied piano, music theory and singing and also taught herself to play guitar.  She wrote and played several of her original songs as she travelled through Europe on her own while in her early twenties.

 Barbara has written and produced extensively for the advertising industry since the early 1980’s, and has also written theme, and special event songs and promotional campaigns for television and radio.

Barbara travelled to Los Angeles and London in the mid 1980s to "shop" her original songs, and whilst in LA was invited to attend ASCAP’s prestigious songwriter’s master class series.

She signed three of her songs to publishing company Robbie Porter Music, while continuing to write and record new material, including co-writing the theme song for a Los Angeles teen telemovie.  Some of the songs written in this time period are now available at Bright Light Multimedia on the True Love CD and Download.

Barbara has recently written a selection of charming and endearing children's songs which are now being recorded and will be soon available for sale at this website.

In the near future, a series of relaxation awareness music written and created by Barbara and her partner Rod Kirkham will also be for sale.

Barbara continues to create songs, as well as music for relaxation and audio therapy CDs.  She has been a Writer Full Member of the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) since 1983.
