The Talent Scout and Talent Judge

Barbara was one of the three original judges on Channel 9’s Talent Show “Perth’s Young Entertainers” for STW Channel 9.  Barbara always gave her most honest and forthright appraisal of all the many talented, and not so talented, people who performed on the televised show.  She also managed to mix in some solid advice and deep understanding, adding extra strength to her appraisals by recommending the best of the talent to employers, including her own jingle company.

Barbara has continued to assist talented men and women throughout the years, in the acting and singing professions and more recently in the writing arena.

In 2004, Barbara created the Bright Light Cafe as an outlet for talented writers, poets, musicians and artists to display their best work to an appreciative global audience. Each submitted piece is carefully scrutinised by Barbara to ensure that high quality is maintained by all contributors. She has also taken on the role of editor within this domain, not only ensuring grammar and punctuation are brought up to standard but also assisting some very talented foreign writers to anglicize the meaning of their stories and poetry. Barbara also writes to all contributors often giving them just the right praise and advice to motivate them to even higher standards.
